Life isn’t always rosy. Pain, disappointment, grief, and heartache can throw you off course. Even when you know that something has to change, growth and change may seem frightening. With a professional counselor by your side, the process of change becomes easier and more manageable. Counseling is an amazing process.
My theoretical orientation to counseling is Solution-Focused Therapy, with occasional doses of Gestalt and Art Therapy techniques mixed in. In counseling we will discuss how your future will be different as you overcome unhelpful behaviors and pain from your past. I will encourage you to set goals, find solutions, and be more in-tune to your body’s clues about your mental health. I will be your supportive coach and cheerleader as you grow into the person, couple, or family you desire to become.
Counseling isn’t supposed to be a dreadful process. Think of therapy as the opportunity to finally make those changes, finally learn how to communicate, or finally gain control over your fears. Together we can roll up our sleeves and get you back on track. Through work and motivation, you can reach your goals.
